My Scooter was the same when I first got him. I just continued with the brushings and let him nip away. After about a week, he realized I wasn't hurting him and stopped fussing. Now when I take out the brush, he's the first one in my lap! He was the same with the clippers, hairdryer, etc. He loves all aspects of grooming now.
