I feel your pain. Next week DH and I are going out of state on a short vacation to celebrate our anniversary. We are unable to take our dog and this is the first time we will be away from him overnight. We're going to my daughter's house to spend the first night away from home, and we'll stay there with him the first night. He knows my daughter well and has stayed with us at her house before, so at least that won't be too new to him. I trust my daughter to keep him more than I trust anyone else (she's the ONLY person I trust to keep him) but I can't help but worry about leaving him overnight. She has promised she will put a baby gate in front of the door so he can't accidentally escape, and will guard him with her life so he doesn't drown in her pool. The last time we stayed with her he fell in the pool and I thought my daughter was going to dive in after him, LOL. She didn't know he could swim and I know she'll be extra careful with him around the pool, and won't let him outside alone. I am taking his ex pen so he'll be extra safe when he goes outside to potty. I know my daughter will take great care of him, but I can't help being worried about leaving him. Good luck to all of us leaving our "babies" for the first time.
