The earliest our vet would do it was 5 months. I wanted to make sure it was soon enough to aviod all the bad behavior started (marking, humping my Roxie). My vet said he could do it at 5 months because his vaccinations were up to date and his 'friends' dropped, along with his adult teeth coming in. The younger he is the faster the recovery, it barely effected him at all- within 24 hours Ryder was his normal self I was the one chasing him trying to get him to calm down!

I would recommend that your vet uses the disolvable stitches. Ryder didnt even notice them and they were gone before we knew it!
