Well we decided to leave the light on when we went to bed, he still had a bit of a moan but got up and went down stairs pushed the door open- chased the cats out (heard the uproar) so all was undisturbed up stairs, then later he comes bounding back onto the bed looking so pleased with himself so now hubby has a smile on his face, furbaby is happy and I'm pleased all is calm.
