Hmm, I've never noticed that. But, I usually wait until they have a sale on the food I buy. That way it works out to about the same price (including shipping) as it is locally and I don't have to pay sales tax. I've heard a lot of good things about petfooddirect, though, so I will have to check their prices out. Thanks!
