I was really amazed by the Clotisol when I first used it on the dewclaws. I had previously struggled with the powder type bloodstop product with poor results. I was so happy when I coated the dewclaw area with the Clotisol in a very thin layer and it sealed right away even with a little blood present it seals it.
No I don't use the hemostat on the tails. Since either my husband holds and I do the tails or vice a versa. Either way when holding we put pressure on the tail with our fingers. I use the septic stick on the dew claws, by inserting the stick into the wound, never get any blood.
