I would not oil and wrap..I would use a light coat dressing spray, brush through the coat and wrap..do not wrap a damp coat as advised. You can use a mink oil spray and lightly go over the coat, others products have been mentioned.
Don't pile the oil on any coat..these things are meant to be used sparingly.
Check each wrapper at least once daily to grow a show coat..doesn't mean you have to unwrap and rewrap head to toe..just check them to make sure they are secure and all is well. I redo the top knot wrap twice a day and change the face daily...the body can go much longer..3 or 4 days..some wait a week..alot depends on how hard the dog is on the wrappers. I have had some who were angels and never bothered with them..others who rubbed against furniture and fences to remove them. In those cases a nylon/silk wrapper jacket works well. |
