My Barley was a rescue, and I will always choose to rescue. It's amazing how much love a rescued dog gives you, especially one that's a little older.
I found Barley on Petfinder and though he looked horrible in his picture, I knew he was the one. He was also one that didn't know how to play with a toy when we first brought him home. Now, just 4 months later he loves playing fetch and shake the tar out of it

Yayy...you did great! What a sweet, heartwarming story and he's such a cutie pie (isn't it amazing what a little love can do?)...and his name I absolutely LOVE! Sooooo cute!
I just wanted to say thank you to mm for starting this thread too! I adore my little Max, who we bought from the breeder, but there's just something really "special" about a rescue. It's just a good feeling that there's one less little creature out there suffering needlessly!
It also makes me feel good that there's so many people willing to do it too....I wouldn't trade my Max for the world, but I know that from now on, I will only have rescued animals of any kind!
