Default Anyone know Huddersfield Ben birthdate?

I've been doing a little reading on the history of the Yorkshire terrier, and there is one dog by the name of Hudderfield Ben who is said to be the father of the Yorkshire Terrier. While the breed didn't originate in Yorkshire, England, Ben, who lived there, is said to have been an excellent ratting dog, and although he was 9-12 pounds regularly sired stock that was able to compete in the under the 7 pound limit.

I thought it would be fun to celebrate his birthday, but all I can find is his day of death, September 23. Since so many of you have access to better books, I was hoping someone might have access to this information. Also, does anyone think there will be lots of arguments if I repeat the claim that he is indeed the "father" of the Yorkshire Terrier? I got my information from Wikepedia, although I've read other sources that say the same thing. Huddersfield Ben - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
