Since her coughing/breathing is still pretty bad (especially, during the wee hours of the a.m.) he wants me to add the Val-Turbogesic syrup (q 4 hrs, as needed).
I've been giving Bella the Temaril-P & Amoxicillan immediately after her meals...I'll check with her Vet on Monday and see if he wants me to do anything different...but, your way does sound prudent! We don't want no stinkin' ulcers, too!
IF and I mean IF...I needed to seek out a 2nd opinion, does anyone know of a good Internist (didn't even know they have 'em in Veterinary medicine! ) out my way? I live in Murrieta, CA (Riverside County) but, relatively close to Orange & San Diego County, too.

I agree with vet as you do need to get under control then taper back but your goal should be every other day as not good to give steroids daily
do you live near garden grove? as dr dodds is there and she does all blood work and titers for me and she is excellent with blood work.
I will let you know as i am in ventura county - i have heard of a good surgeon in san diego from someone on here llcornell - maybe pm her as that hospital will have a good internist i am sure - also dr dodds will know the best internist as well in orange county ---www.hemopet.com or
