You can also have your Vet run a Protein C test. This will also give more confirmation that there is indeed a Liver Shunt.

The Protein C test is a blood draw that MUST be overnighted to Cornell University. The results are done at Cornell and usually take a few days.

Results come back in a %

80% and above are either normal liver or MVD (sorry, but it really can not be accurate for normal or MVD - just a guildline).


However....
Below 80% is pretty accurate for Liver Shunt
