Kindle keeps appearing when I go to the Amazon web site, but I always ignore it since I'm not an avid book reader. I decided to read this thread out of curiosity, & to read unbiased opinions about the Kindle.
I started researching the Kindle 2 vs. the Kindle DX. I liked the size of the Kindle 2, but thought that the DX would be easier to read (I have poor eyesight for reading).
I read about the Ipod Touch Kindle application, & being able to download chapter 1 of books. Since I have an Ipod Touch I gave it a try. I thought the the Ipod Touch screen was going to be much too small. Was I ever surprised. I think it's perfect, at least for me. I'm reading comfortably with the medium font size, & can use the smaller fonts without straining. It makes reading a pleasure. Page turning is easy, & no need for a bookmark.
I purchased my first Kindle book yesterday, & certainly not my last. Thanks for getting me interested in Kindle. Now I don't need to buy a book case, & with the money I can get a ??? |
I'm glad to see you joined the dark side and that we could help!

The Amazon website made me buy a Kindle. That's what I get for being on the Internet! If I had managed to avoid it, I probably never would have heard of it and saved myself hundreds of dollars.

The Apple app for the Kindle is such a great idea for Amazon. The only downside with it is that the battery of the iPod drains sooo quickly (especially compared to the Kindle itself). But you can just save so much money by avoiding buying the Kindle (not to mention the Kindle is only for reading books while the iPod has so many uses) that it's definitely a great alternative.
Now withe the money you've saved you can buy some more yorkie treats and toys!
