I agree that if you're breeding and yes, selling puppies what you make on the sale of your pups should go back into the care and welfare of the pups. In addition, be prepared if anything should genetically life threatenig should pop up with one of those pups to reimburse the money to the new owners to assist them in paying for medical bills for that pup.

I agree there are those that just don't have the heart, inclination to do this. And I agree if a puppy is past the age where pain is greater then a vet should be called upon to do the job. However, if a person wants to learn and is taught by a breeder that has been doing it for awhile and has learned from a vet, then they should have to option of doing so. The knowledge and skill of a breeder doing this, does away with exposing the pups to heaven knows what at the vets, as well as chilling the pups at such a tender age.

Nope i think you misunderstood my post or i wasnt clear enough i didnt say everyone should take theirs to the vet. you and i had also talked about doing tails and dew claws at home earlier in this thread. that i would do it if i had hands on training. My post was saying you should be prepared to put money out when breeding, for things like tail docking and dew claw removal.
