We had no idea we would be walking into a backyard breeding situation. Cocoa Man was in a wire kennel about the size of a small bunny cage. He was barking and screaming, I finally asked the lady if he was okay and she hit the cage telling him to shut up, at which time he began to growl and bark. She said he was mean as sin, and up until a few weeks ago the only reason she kept him around is because he made pretty puppies. Now he can't even do that she says. Then she tells me he's 16 years old and no good anymore, and when her husband got back in town she was gonna have him just shoot the dog. Some how I kept my cool and calmly asked if I could have him.I of course reported her when I left but that is a whole other can of worms. So when I brought Cocoa Man home he was in horrible shape, he walked with his back hunched like a mad cat. My vet told me it was permenant and caused from being confined in a small space for so long. He only weighed about 2 and a half pounds but his frame was that of a 5-6 lb. Yorkie. All of his teeth had to be pulled, which was a good thing because everytime I picked him up he would attack me for about 2 minutes before he would finally calm down. He was also mostly blind in one eye and completely blind in the other. To make a long story short, after 1 month of love and affection Cocoa Man decided he didn't have to attack everytime he was touched. He lived for two more years and died in the bed soundly in his sleep. I will never forget Coo Coo Cocoa Man!
That ones a tearjerker! Cocoa Man was so lucky you came along! It was so great of you to take him home and give him a life he desperately deserved. I'm so saddened by the life he had before he met you. I'm glad that he finally found companionship and love with you.
