First of all, welcome to YT! Second of all, I was in the same boat as you in the beginning of this whole thing. It was not that I could not afford to pay over 200 for a dog, it was the mindset of paying over 200 for a dog! I thought of all the things I could get for 500-1000+ dollars. But, when it all comes down to it the price tag reflects the good breeding and care of the puppies. Yorkies are not cheap, not now or ever. Paying the high cost prepares you for the cost you are going to have to put into her in the long run (clothes, vet, food, grooming, etc.) As much as we all want our little pampered babies we have to be willing to pay for them. If money is tight, find a reputable breeder who is willing to work out payments with you. My breeder took a deposit after Roxy was born and she gets delivered to me after 10 weeks when she is all paid for. I have a wonderful breeder who is very helpful and works with me. Just remember that the cost does not go down after she comes home. You have to continue to put money into her for her care. All else fails, you can go to petfinder.com and find rescues in your area that might have a low adoption feel. Also, check your local shelter, there are many small breed dogs there who need adopting. Finally, look in your classifieds of your local paper. I got my little chipin from a lady whos minipin and chi had puppies unexpectedly and she needed homes for them. Many times these puppies don't find homes and they go to kill shelters!! If I could adopt all the dogs in those shelters I would!!!!!!!! Anyways, long story short...I hope you find what youre looking for and you take heed at low cost yorkies (I learned through a bad breeder and loss of money that cheap yorkies are bad for the puppy and bad for you!)
