I use the Nutrical and just squeeze a little on my finger and rub it on their gums. It is absorbed very quickly that way. I have used Karo syrup the same way but it is a little messier. I have read not to use honey for the same reason we are now advised not to give it to our human babies. It used to be safe but now there is a high incidence of botulism spores in many areas. Honey is not pateurized, but neither is most corn syrup so not sure if that is really all that great either. Over a year old, humans can tolerate the relatively small incidence of botulism spores. But I avoid honey and now the corn syrup too for my pups. Nutrical should be available at most any pet store.
