When I do go out of town, i'll go to Petsmart, and I found a fairly decent kibble to feed Suzi, and the same brand in canned food. She likes it , and the rating is a 4on the kibble and a 6 for the canned. I freed feed Suzi the kibble, then give her the canned a couple times a day as well. I find that on the Rating scales for dog foods , esp. the higher rating it is more about the protein levels that makes the rating. The lower the rating, there are more fillers and "junk" in the dog foods. It is hard to find the right one, and even harder when choices are limited. |
I'd drive 2 hrs if I could, but it is a 7 hr drive for me to hit a large town..yes I am that isolated!
..I will just have to see how Bailey does on the lower rated foods and use food substitues if I have to, I just hope he doesn't get sick, but then I wonder how every other dog owned in this town is making out, the people here all have the same limited choices. I need to stress less
I know I would just feel better if I knew the food available was rated better *sigh*
