I am in a Rual town> I shop nearly an hr away just to go to the bigger stores, Walmart, Petsmart, malls , Ect . I totally understand where you are coming from.
When I do go out of town, i'll go to Petsmart, and I found a fairly decent kibble to feed Suzi, and the same brand in canned food. She likes it , and the rating is a 4on the kibble and a 6 for the canned. I freed feed Suzi the kibble, then give her the canned a couple times a day as well. I find that on the Rating scales for dog foods , esp. the higher rating it is more about the protein levels that makes the rating. The lower the rating, there are more fillers and "junk" in the dog foods. It is hard to find the right one, and even harder when choices are limited.
