I know what you're going through. I have two I got as puppies. I know just by the waay they act what they are thinking, etc. I got Rita just three weeks ago, she's 6 years old. She was rehomed from a breeder in Arizona. Rita sleeps alot, doesn't play with toys or other two dogs. Almost seems depressed, but actually I don't think she knows any other way of life. She is starting to come around to all the attention we lavish on her, but it's going to take a long time. I do not think she was abused physically, just ignored. Other than feeding or bathing her I don't think the lady that had her paid any attention to her for 6 years! It saddens me because my other two are so happy. I wish I knew how Rita felt.
