Yeah, it sure sounds like something up there spooked her that maybe you didn't see. Could have just been a strange object in the distance that she didn't understand, or something like that.

These guys can be pretty skittish at times. Mine freaked out a little bit while camping the first time. Didn't want to explore and didn't eat, so I did the Nutrical thing too. Great idea to carry it along, btw.

I just tried to distract him with treats and games and toys. By the next time we went, he decided it wasn't so bad, and now he tolerates new experiences much better.

So I say, yes, continue exposing her to new experiences and make the most of it without babying her too much. She'll get the hang of it and be a happier dog in the long run.
