There is no reason to dis APRI, they are running an honest business and making very little money where AKC fees have went thru the roof. Get an APRI dog and order a pedigree and you will probably see many AKC dogs in the line. So what's the difference??? A piece of paper! Sure don't make any difference in the dog!
The conditions in which the breeding dogs are raised is the primary difference. As stated previously, APRI was started by commercial breeders. Many were kicked out of the AKC for inhumane conditions, and so they just started their own registry.
