To me there is not differents between the APRI and those people that will only give you limited registration for there dogs! Not worth the paper it is written on!!

Does it come down to they are not up to standard right?!?
Well, I agree we should all love our dogs no matter what, but I believe it's important to encourage people to only support good breeders. I think it important to educate ourselves on what makes a good breeder, and how to find a good breeder, and then once we find a good breeder with high standards, and a breeding program in which we approve, we can feel a little more certain we are doing something to aid in the betterment of Yorkshire Terrier Breed. After all, if everyone stopped buying puppy mill dogs, puppy millers would go out of business, and if everyone stopped buying backyard breeder dogs, backyard breeders would stop purposeful breeding. If everyone stopped buying good breeders dogs, they would have to stop breeding, as well. So who do we want to breed the next generation of yorkies? I say only good ethical breeders who have studied the breed, and really know what they are doing. While we can't stop everyone from buying from bad breeders we can choose to support only good breeders and encourage others to do as well.

I didn't' register Joey because that would make him more valuable, he's already priceless. I registered Joey to show my support for the AKC and what they are trying to achieve. But I agree, its not papers that make a dog valuable, it's finding a reputable breeder who cares about producing healthy yorkies who look and act like yorkies. People shouldn't buy a dog because they feel that a certain kind is more prestigious or valuable or has more status, that's what cars are for!
