Can I make a suggestion, I went to a recent yorkie meet up and was speaking to a lady there about potty training if your working , she actually had one of these set up and had her crate attached to the opening.. she told me when she has puppies she always uses one of these, attaches the crate to it and they NEVER pee or poop in thier crate.. she told me it is wonderful for people who work long hours and teaches the dog they dont have to go to the bathroom in thier crate... she is a breeder and told me they usually cant hold it much longer the 1 - 2 hours so if you plan on leaving him in there he has no choice but to releave himself in there... it will give him a small area to play and also a pee pad to pee on if your not home , that way the poor thing does not have to sit in urine or poop if your not home..
