update Day 6
Woke up on my own, no cries or whining, at least that I heard. Found Osito already up, I moved him out to the living room in his crate. He had already soiled in his crate, but he used the correct spot. I left newspaper in there overnight, and there were no signs of tearing. We played for a while and ended up peeing on the PA one more time before his nap, so far so good.
I was away for the early part of the morning; he used the padded area while I was gone. When I came home he wanted to be let out and used the PA, praised and gave him a treat. He really likes his treats and is starting to associate it with the PA. One time he went over to the PA, just stood there, and then ran over to me expecting a treat. Through out the day we had other successes and failures, so we are still at about a 50% success rate. This is much better than 10-20%.
Jane returned this evening, Osito was happy to see her. He only lays on her lap and not mine. What is up with that? She noticed that he has improved on the potty training and that he grew. She was only gone two days, but I guess I didn’t notice since I was there the whole time.
Sidenote: Purchased a Kong Ball for puppies, and he loves it, when treats are inside. Also got the Nature’s Miracle cleaner, it seems to work on keeping from going to the spots I don’t him to go. The treats he goes crazy over are “Wellness” treats that are made for puppies and contain lamb, salmon, fruits, and veggies. |
