They're softer than faux furs you can buy at craft stores, but I'm not sure about Rabbit fur or how soft it is. This stuff is definitely smooth and soft, though. I'm trying to think of a good comparison, but the only real fur I've ever touched is raccoon, and this is softer than that. There's no waxy shiny finish on the fur, it's all fluffy and matte.
