My 13 year old male Chipper had bladder stones. I was not aware that he even had an issue until he got up and started walking down the hall and peed. This little guy never had an accident in the house since he was a puppy. The urine was dark so I knew there was a problem. Took him to the vets had x-rays and the stones were found. The vet told me that bladder stones were quite common in yorkies. He had surgery the next day. The vet removed the kidney stones, there were 7 of them. The vet also noticed that there was an unusual thickening of the bladder wall and he did a biopsy on that. When all the results of the tests came back It was found the stones were the calcium type and the unusual thickening of the bladder wall was cancer. Until the surgery is done and the test results come back you really don't know exactly what you're dealing with.
