I stayed out with him for an hour and a half one day, and....nothing. He will literally hold it until he comes in the house. I have tried taking his poop outside for him to sniff several times and it hasn't worked. I will have him stay in a small area while on the leash and he will sit or lay right next to my feet and look up at me like I'm an idiot. He just wants to try and eat or play with leaves on the ground or lick dirt. I've tried putting him in the crate, but he will still go to the bathroom in it.
I went to take a shower one day and found poop and pee in the bathtub...gross. I have to watch him if the bathroom door is open now because he has done that several times now.
He knows going in the house is bad. As soon as he does it he either hides or comes to me and wants me to pick him up.
I love him to death and I'm not going to give up, but it is getting extremely frustrating.
