You can find a lot more information on the internet just by googling 'dog inbreeding'. I am not advocating that it is necessarily a good thing but it is something that has been done for hundreds of years. Breeding animals is not the same as us humans having relations, we have morals and animal don't. Closely related animals breed in the wild all the time, those that are strong survive and those that are defective die.

To breed correctly it is best to know what you are doing, whether inbreeding, line breeding or outcrossing. They all have their risks and you can get excellent or bad results from any of type of breeding.
