You may be right but I do think they look better with the tail -- at least if yours is a normal representative. Yours is gorgeous! I like to keep the hair on Ben's tail long so it plumes a little but it doesn't as nicely as yours since he is docked. I did dock the puppies tails as that is what is expected here and some may want to show them. It is part of the AKC standard to be docked. It reminded me of male baby circumcision -- I was hesitant to do that too but my husband was firm about it being done. I think we do things for so long without there really being a concrete need and maybe it is time to change things. But until the AKC standard is changed, I don't think the practice will change here.
