They will want to be with you but they want to be near their puppies too. Hopefully she will settle down to a routine soon. It can get very frustrating until that happens. It would worry me that a puppy got out of the whelping box already. What kind of box are they in? They need to be in a box that has about a 6 to 8 inch lip on it so the pups can't get dragged out or crawl out. Has the momma ate anything yet? I usually have to hand feed mine the first few days.
Yes, she has eaten twice today. Once, her regular food with cottage cheese and the second time, she really only ate the cottage cheese. I did mix a little calsorb in with some nutrical and gave that too her. I don't want to over do the calsorb either cause I heard that can be dangerous too. I don't think the puppy got out of the whelping box, I think she got him out and was thinking that she was going to bring the puppies to me. So now I'm just staying here in the room and that seems enough to keep her feeling more comfortable. I took her temp again and it's 102.4. I'll keep watching that. Would you recommend I give her some calsorb with each meal? Like 1.5ml? Or just stick with the cottage cheese? Thanks for your help!
