I usually use the Nutri-cal during the whelping process and it really helps the momma. The Cal-sorb is essential to have on hand in case the momma dog starts getting eclampsia. Nursing females are not likely to get eclampsia if they are eating 4 good meals a day but just skipping one meal could bring it on and the Cal-sorb could save her life. I don't like using Cal-sorb during whelping unless I feel it is absolutely necessary because it can cause the momma to start vomiting.
