The pups should be nursing at least every two hours. Most of my moms will stay right with the pups the first few days. Sometimes the first day after having pups the mom won't want to even get out of the box to use the bathroom. Have you checked to see how much milk mom has? Are all the pups latching on strongly? The pups suckling will make the uterus contract and the last placenta should come out on its own. I always monitor the moms temperature the first few days. The temperature should not go over 102.5. As long as she does not start running a temperature she should be fine until tomorrow if you want to take her in for a checkup. I don't take mine in unless I feel there is a problem. Do you have a heating pad under the pups? Make sure the mom can get off of it and don't make to room too hot for the mom. When a mom gets to hot it can greatly effect her milk production.
