We usually turn all the lights on outside, carry a flashlight, and my daughters stay on the porch and look out for bears. Sometimes my husband decides to be funny and throw stuff in the bushes to try and scare me!
They stayed so long this time that I had to wait a while before taking Cookie outside, but we are always careful.
