what i did for with my baby was crate him only to sleep but he was already pad trained b4 i got him. so he knew where to go.. i suggest you gate her in one specific area until you are sure she knows where she has to go .. dont give her the run of your house just yet do it in your terms... she will cry when you crate her be prepared for that .. 7mths old thats tough.. but again be patient.
you can either feed her 3 times a day or 2x or free feed.. what did the previous owner do?? you should ask her questions.. ALWAY LEAVE OUT FRESH WATER FOR HER .. she will drink when thirsty. about the period i dont know i only have a male but im sure others here will help you out with that one..
