I would highly recommend reading one of the books by Cesar Millan, also known as the Dog Whisperer. If the puppy is biting you like that it WILL get worse. I know because I adopted a 1 yr old silky terrier after my 13 yr old yorkie passed away. I treated this puppy like a human baby, with kindness and love, but he started biting my friends and family and was very possesive of whatever he felt was his. Some dogs need to be taught that YOU are their pack leader or they will not respect you and they will bite to keep YOU in line. They need to be handled in a different way then less aggressive dogs.
