Keep you dog in a gated room, like the kitchen where's it's bright.
Buy a bed and leave that in there with toy's, water and pee pad if
he's not completely trained. An unhappy dog won't stop showing
aggression if he being made to do something that makes him that way.
I believe in crate traing but if at 9mos old he's not trained I would
give up and do the above. A happier dog is easier to work with.
Sounds like how Jackson was. I did the crate thing for the first month I had him home. After that - I bought an ex-pen. Now, at 7 months of age, I don't use either. When I leave, he gets gated in my bedroom. When I'm here, he gets run of the downstairs but not upstairs. I would try another method besides a crate! I fully believe in crate training but Jackson was just not a "crate" kind of dog and I did everything. Lured him with treats, never left him in there long, ignored him when he cried and whined for nearly an hour... So, he's not crate-trained but he's a very well behaved and pretty good trained dog. So I didn't really need it.
