I agree with the other posters
You have to stop the biting immediately ..... because that will only get worse
He has some sort of fear of the crate and at this point it doesn't matter why
Keep him in a larger pen or a laundry room or something to keep him penned when you need
I would also watch him with food and other possession items for now
