I disagree with the fact that some people are satisfied with there dogs going potty in there homes as long as they're on a pad.

how is this teaching the dog anything?

all it is doing is telling the dog it is okay to go in the house!

therefore he will go wherever he sees fit in the house. my method that i am practicing with my 10 week old boy is taking him out every two - to three hours and praising him whenever he goes

. during the night he still needs a wee wee pad in his crate, because a small pup just cant hold it that long, but as soon as i wake him up and take him out the first thing we do is go outside for potty. this method works well for me seeing as how the dog is still just a newborn and has had only about 1 accident on the floor since we started the training at about 8 weeks of age.

he also has learned sit and paw!! these dogs are not stupid, as long as you take the time to train them they can learn nomatter how old they are!!
