My doxie has the same issue. He has had to be expressed twice in a little over a months time. The second time he got a medication for an infection and will be checked again in a month. If it continues to happen frequently like that, they can be removed but that could lead to loss of bowel control! I would rather take him in once a month to have them expressed but I will stay clear of the room. His "personal" smell is REALLY pungent!
