Max had bad breath for a little while before he had some puppy teeth removed when neutered.
Anyway, I had a vet (same clinic but not his usual vet) look at him and he (vet) was fishing around trying to get Max to let him see his teeth. Max was fighting him a bit. I think he knocked a bad tooth loose because after just that...the smell was gone.
Amazing how bad one rotting baby tooth can smell.
