I lost my Becca unexpectedly this time last year after 11 wonderful years. Alexander, 12 at the time, was heartbroken (as was I). I really worried that I was going to lose him, too. I found Chelsea and brought her home just a few days after losing Becca (Chelsea was a puppy). It was the best thing I ever did!! She drove Alexander crazy but she kept him occupied, entertained him and gave him someone else to give his affection to. My yorkie family has grown a lot since then but I thank God every day for sending Chelsea into our lives to save Alex. Also, I think her being a puppy helped his adjustment because there was no competition or dominance displays between them. He took her under his wing, protected her and 'showed her the ropes'! He spoils her rotten to this day - she can get away with anything with him lol!
