Four months is a perfect time to start her on getting used to grooming. I got started on Uni while she slept. I still do most of her grooming while she sleeps on my lap. She's never been to the groomer, I do it myself. I didn't have luck with slicker brushed or pin brushes. I use a flat metal toothed comb instead that i got at target. it works way better, use the tip of the comb to get out mats, then use the entire length to smooth. While you comb, softly talk and praise her. Start out with short 5 min sessions, and reward, and work your way up to the hour long sessions. Eventually she will understand grooming is a part of yorkie life!
