While I understand your reasons for feeling that way, I have to disagree with you in this aspect. What you have described is not
always the case, just as it is not
always the case that a breeder under the ACK umbrella is going to be reputable. It's not always about money, and doesn't mean that you can't know the background of the dogs. Of course, if you are dealing with a dishonest breeder, that is CERTAINLY the case...but the same could be said for AKC or any other registry.
What you have stated IS the case many times, but not always. It's certainly something to be cautious and wary about, but not something that should unquestionably condemn the dog, owners or breeders over. Of course, the ability to make wise decisions in that area comes with preparing yourself as an owner, doing your research and educating yourself on what constitutes a "good breeder."
