There's a huge red flag. What was the temp in TN on Saturday? Cause here it was in the upper 80's. Excessive panting and drooling can cause dehydration. It could've certainly started then...and once it begins it's vital (obviously) that you get them rehydrated. Leaving him alone again Saturday night was not a good idea. I think she was totally irresponsible.
Personally I can't imagine getting a new puppy and NOT want to stay home with him the entire weekend. Poor baby.
