 Is she dying?
we had a litter born on the first of this month 4 boys and 1 girl. they all were 5 and 6 oz at birth and progressivly have been gaining weight. now its been 11 days we have our little girl and she is still going up but very slowly. she is now about 7 oz and was 5 at birth. the boys are now 11 and 12. im wondering if she is dying. yesterday she was putting out a little cry about every 5 to 10 seconds and was breathing very hard. the pup just isnt thriving. she has lost interest in nursing from mom probably due to her brothers that are twice her size bullying her out. we have been bottle feeding her and have been keeping a close eye on her temp. but when she is with the whole litter she will move away from all the other puppies and just lay by herself. she stopped whining lastnight after a few good hours of good warmth from a heat pad and food from the bottle but today she has just been very limp. we can see her breathing and every time i feed her she will feed. is she just slowly dying or is it just going to take a week for her to finally get her strength back and wanting to be a puppy again. anything will help. oh also the vet said that she looked fine and only suggested that we suppliment her feeding just to make sure she was getting enough. thanks |
