I agree with you , however, 100%. If it can be done always the right way all the time, ideally , this ought to be the how puppies are purchased.

Actually, it's exactly because of their popularity that Yorkies today have so many health problems. They have become a favorite of greeders.
Do you know that today's Yorkies are thirty-six times more likely to inherit a liver shunt shunt
than all other breeds combined? There is a very simple bile acids test that can tell a breeder if the dog she plans on breeding has liver disease, but backyard breeders don't even spend the approximately $75 (or less) to have it done.
Liver shunts cost thousands of dollars to surgically repair. I would never consider buying a Yorkie puppy from a breeder who didn't bile acid test.
