I've had to travel and Leila has been in a kennel twice. She never got sick and I always picked er up and she looked healthy and never had any health issues after. I did reseach the place a few times, and toured the facility. A good friend of mine told me to schedule a tour of the place and about 1 or 2 weeks later to just pop in and ask to see the place again. A good place will let you tour it at all times of the day. I poked around to see if the other dogs water looked clean and fresh, I even checked the corners of the floor for dirt, dust etc. The place we used was in NY and they had supervised play area's with dogs of the same size. The kennels were huge (I was concerned she would be locked up in a small cage for days) she had plenty of space to play, sleep eat etc. You have plenty of time to do yur homework before your trip.Good Luck!
