Hi, My husband is an accountant. He didn't go for the CPA until he got laid off and needed a new job. The difference is opportunities and MONEY. Some places won't hire you without the CPA and the pay is a lot better with the CPA. Long run CPA will support you better. Your idea of getting the 2yr and then going back is good. You can work and take night or internet classes. Good luck.
