So on Feb 20th of this year I brought Couver home and have been in love ever since!

Couver - I love that name - so unique!
I got "my" very first dog, a schnauzer mix, from a rescue right before my youngest daughter married and left home. Sadly, Toby was only with us 4.5 years when he became ill (seizures, blindness, tremors) and I had him pts.

I decided to wait a bit before looking for another pet and didn't have a particular breed in mind, I just knew I wanted a small dog that didn't shed. About a month later, I was cleaning up around the house and began to toss our small, local newspaper into the waste basket, when I had second thoughts and read thru the Classified Ads. Lo and behold, there was an ad for an adult, female yorkie that "needs lots of love". I wasn't sure exactly what that meant LOL! But I called and spoke with a wonderful woman; it was her son's yorkie that she was rehoming for him. He had graduated college, acquired a gf and also a second job...hence the "needs lots of love"! Olivia was almost 8 yrs old, and had been a breeder for 5 years before being rehomed with her son. The lady wanted to keep Olivia, but her DH said their one yorkie was enough...so we went to "just see" her...and drove home with her on my lap!

Just like with Toby, it was love at first sight. She is missing a few teeth (and maybe a few more after her dental tomorrow

) and has a few quirky issues, likely because of her "previous life", but she is a doll baby, so sweet. Like another poster, I really didn't know anything about the yorkie breed until I came across this website - YT has been a huge help to me. I'm kind of glad I didn't research the breed too much before I got Olivia - if I had known how difficult they can be to housetrain...hmmm.....LOL
