I would check with a local nursery, describe your location and space and ask for some appropriate recommendations. I would opt for something that blooms all summer, if there is a bush like that that will fit the space and light requirements. But you may be more interested in pretty leaves or interesting foliage - either way, I'd for sure seek professional advice.
